Haven't Gone Viral Yet? Here's the fix!

Every so often I get a DM asking why one of you haven’t gone viral on shorts yet.

And the answer usually comes down to one of these key reasons.

1. Your Videos Are Simply Boring…

   The main way to check if your videos are boring is by checking out your analytics if you simply are getting a below average AVD (Average View Duration) or bad Swipe Ratio then that is why you haven’t gone viral yet! lots of people assume you go viral simply by being consistent although that’s one of the steps the key is in your YouTube studio.

2. Momentum

   Sometimes channels need momentum for YouTube to find the right audience for you on shorts although some channels get a crazy push straight away 99% of us are limited to 500 view pushes and even 10-15k view pushes as YouTube does not know our audience yet so literally just keep posting and as long as your analytics look good you will go viral in the matter of days or even weeks!

3. The Niche You Chose Isn’t Great

   As obvious as it sounds please check if your niche is still relevant! I remember starting off with no knowledge 2 years ago and going into a niche that was simply dead and I was always wondering why I couldn’t get any good views, a major fix to this is google extensions such as VidIQ and ViewStats that give you insights on channel performance so you can instantly tell if a niche is ‘viral’ or not.

   Its hard to make assumptions without knowing what niche you are in however these 3 simple things should help you even if you’re new to shorts or a couple months in.
